The next words are almost certainly that corporal or verbal punishment is never used — but almost certainly is not good enough on a discipline policy, so nobody here is finishing that sentence for her. Get the full paragraph from the parent handbook and print it whole. This is the single policy parents read hardest, and a sentence that trails off on the word “punishment” reads worse than no sentence at all. A Spanish version in her own words is needed too.

Cut off at “coming”, most likely “coming in from outside”. Ask for the rest: when hands are washed, how often toys and surfaces are cleaned, how nappies and bedding are handled, and what happens after an illness. Then this becomes a real section instead of a fragment.
House policies

- Immunisations
- California requires proof of immunisation before a child starts, with the limited exemptions the state allows.
- Sick children
- Children with a fever, vomiting or anything contagious stay home. You will be called to collect a child who becomes sick during the day.
- Medication
- Medication is only given with written authorisation, in the original labelled container.
- Emergencies and disasters
- There is a written emergency and disaster plan, and a posted evacuation route. Ask to see both on your tour.
- Who may collect your child
- Only the people you name in writing, with photo identification. No exceptions, including by phone.
- Mandated reporting
- Licensed childcare providers are mandated reporters of suspected child abuse or neglect under California law.
- Inspections and complaints
- Community Care Licensing inspects this home and keeps the reports on public file. You may read them, and you may file a complaint directly with the department.
Every policy in this list is a draft written from standard California family daycare practice. None of it is verified against this home. Read each line with the provider, correct it, and make the final wording match the signed parent handbook exactly. Unlike the two quotes above, not one word of this list came from her — where the two ever disagree, hers wins and this list gets rewritten.
