Privacy policy
What this website and the parent portal keep about you, why, where it is kept, and who can see it.
Effective date: [TODO: set at launch]
This is a plain-language draft written by the web studio. It is not legal advice. Before launch, the owner's attorney or insurer must review it in both languages, confirm that every statement matches how the home and the portal really work, and set the effective date.
The short version
- The public website keeps nothing you type. It counts visits without knowing who you are.
- The parent portal keeps the name, email and language of each adult Lety invites. It keeps no names, birthdays or health information about your child.
- Portal photos are seen only by enrolled families, show only children whose family signed a photo release, and are deleted after 12 months.
- We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- To see, correct or delete what we keep, call Lety.
The details
Who we are
Colores de Esperanza is a licensed family child care home at 142 Oaklawn Ave #1, Chula Vista, CA 91910, California facility number 376628606, run by Leticia “Lety” Rojas. In this policy, “we” means the home and Lety.
This policy covers this public website and the parent portal for enrolled families. It does not cover your child's paper enrollment file. That file stays at the home, private and confidential, as the house policies say.
On this website
You can read every page without telling us who you are.
- The tour form on the Visit page checks what you type, but it does not send it anywhere yet. Nothing you type there reaches us or is saved. To ask for a tour, please call.
- Your browser remembers the language you chose. That choice is saved only on your own phone or computer, and it is never sent to us.
- We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It tells us which pages are read, which website sent you here, and the general kind of device, browser and country. It uses no cookies, and it does not tell us who you are.
- Like any web host, Vercel's servers briefly record technical details of each visit, such as your internet (IP) address, to deliver the pages and keep the site safe.
- The lettering on the website and in the portal comes from Google Fonts, and the Visit page shows a Google map. To show them, your browser connects to Google, which receives your internet address. The map may also set Google's own cookies. Google's privacy policy covers what Google does.
We set no cookies of our own.
In the parent portal
The portal is only for families with a child enrolled here. Lety creates every account; nobody can sign up alone. For each adult she invites, the portal keeps:
- full name and email address
- preferred language, English or Spanish
- the family's name and number in Lety's records, for example “Familia García” and CE-0007
- the dates you were invited, activated your account, last opened the portal and accepted the portal rules
- whether you want urgent emails
Your password is stored in a scrambled form that nobody can read, not even Lety.
To keep you signed in, the portal saves a sign-in key in your browser. Signing out removes it. The sign-in service also keeps short security records of each sign-in, such as the time and the internet address.
The portal also holds news and photos of the children's activities posted by Lety and her staff, the weekly menu, and documents such as the parent handbook and fee sheet. Parents only read; there are no comments or messages.
The portal has no visit counter or analytics of any kind.
Why we keep it
- Your name and email let you sign in, and let Lety see who has access.
- Your language sets how the portal and its emails speak to you.
- The dates show Lety who has activated an account and who has agreed to the portal rules.
- Your email is used only for your invitation, password resets and urgent notices such as closures.
We never sell your information, and we never use it or share it for advertising.
Where it is kept
We use three outside services. Each one handles your information only to do its job for us.
- Supabase keeps the portal's accounts, posts, menu and photos, on servers in the western United States. Photos are stored privately and shown only through links that stop working after a short time.
- Vercel hosts the website and the portal, and counts visits to the public website.
- Resend sends the portal's emails.
LeeGStudios.com, the studio that built the website and looks after it, can reach these services to keep them working. It does not use your information for anything else.
Who can see it
- Your account details: you and Lety, and LeeGStudios.com when it maintains the system. Other families cannot see your name, email or family number.
- Posts, photos, the menu and documents: every adult with an active portal account, which means the families enrolled right now, and Lety and her staff.
- No one outside the portal. Portal pages are kept out of search engines, and nothing in the portal is public.
We share information with the authorities only when the law requires it.
Your child's information
The portal does not store your child's name, birthday, address or health information. In the portal, a family is a name and the adults Lety invited. Your child's records stay in the paper file at the home.
Your child can appear in photos, and Lety and her staff write the posts. Posts do not give children's last names or health details.
Children do not use the website or the portal. Accounts are only for adults.
Photos and the photo release
A child appears in portal photos only if their family signed the portal photo release. The release covers the portal only. This public website shows no photos of children.
The releases are kept on paper. Lety and her staff check them before posting and leave children without one out of the photos they post.
Before a photo is uploaded, the portal removes the hidden data inside it, including the place where it was taken.
You can withdraw the release at any time. Tell Lety, and she removes the photos of your child from the portal and leaves your child out of new ones. She cannot take back a copy that someone made against the portal rules.
When enrollment ends, photos already posted stay in the portal, under the release you signed, until they are deleted at 12 months. Withdraw the release if you want them removed sooner.
How long we keep it
- Photos: deleted automatically 12 months after they are posted.
- The text of posts, the menu and documents: kept while the portal runs, unless they are deleted sooner.
- Your account: kept while your child is enrolled. When enrollment ends, access ends the same day and the account is switched off. Ask Lety, and she deletes it.
Decide how long a switched-off account is kept before it is deleted, for example 12 months after enrollment ends, and state that period here.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your information
Call Lety at (619) 392-8015, or talk to her at drop-off or pickup. You can ask to:
- see what the portal keeps about you
- correct your name or email
- delete your account. Without one, you cannot use the portal.
- remove photos of your child, by withdrawing the photo release
You can change your language, and turn urgent emails on or off, yourself under My account in the portal.
Lety may ask a question or two to make sure the request comes from you.
Keeping it safe
The database itself checks every request, and it refuses anyone without an active account. Photos are never public.
No system is perfectly safe. If we learn that someone got into the portal who should not have, we will tell the families affected.
If this policy changes
The new version goes on this page with a new date. If a change matters to enrolled families, Lety also posts a notice in the portal.
